Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center offers an unparalleled environment for team building. We engage guests in an array of activities proven to help your team become stronger.
As the only conference destination in the Midwest with a Teams Challenge Course, we have 13 different elements that motivate people to overcoming challenges, both individually and as a group.
One popular teambuilding technique at Oak Ridge is "orienteering." In this exercise groups are dropped in the woods and must find their way back to "base camp" using maps, compasses, G.P.S. systems, two-way radios and their wits.
Book your team-building retreat today, and see for yourself why Oak Ridge was awarded “Best Team Building Venue” by Minnesota Meetings & Events Magazine.

The Complexity Challenge
In this complex and challenging program, groups must follow clues and solve codes using GPS devices, compasses and maps to locate hidden resources they need to complete a final challenge. The Complexity Challenge is designed to mirror the issues of competing priorities, complex stakeholder demands, ambiguous resources and a pressing time deadline.
Imagine 130 scenic acres of varied terrain, crisscrossed by trails. Your team’s challenge: to visit several locations chosen at random, before time runs out. You have two hours to visit all the locations. Mission briefs and maps are handed out. Resources are provided, including compasses, global positioning systems, two-way radios, a laptop computer, Internet link and cash. Information is cryptic and confusing. Roles and responsibilities are ambiguous. The objective is unclear. Communications are difficult. And the clock is ticking…
This customized adventure simulation is our premier experiential offering. It has served as a model for change in hundreds of organizations over the past 15 years. We know of few other experiences that can match its impact and learning outcomes.
At Oak Ridge we encourage you to set aside time in your agenda for team activities. We believe that meeting attendees who are given the opportunity to do something fun and exciting outside of the conference room will participate more and bring fresh ideas to the table.
